Climber Guy Waterman knew he was going to die and had discussed the way he wanted to die with his wife Laura. The spot Guy chose for his death on the Franconia Ridge of Mount Lafayette was ideal as he had many memories of this place.

New England mountaineer Guy Waterman is discussed with emphasis on his life's work and his death on Mount Layfayette in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Waterman was 67, but he chose to die his own way.

Seventy-year-old Phil Jensen can hike to the summit of Mount Washington (6,288 feet) in an hour and a half. Recently he did it 55 times in one summer.
