A photo brings back memories of an American boyhood in post-revolution Cuba. Castro had just come to power but the boy's worries were more centered on making friends at his new school and the stylish way to roll sleeves. In 1960 his family was forced to leave.

Emelda West is a resident of Convent, LA who has travelled to Tokyo, Japan to protest the construction of a chemical plant near her environmentally troubled home town. She saw that Japan suffers from environmental woes that may be worse than those of Convent.
