The lives of four modern-day heroes, Chappell Bean, Donna Taylor, Zachary Fisher and Brian Watwood, are described. Fisher received the Presidential Medal of Freedom award for his philanthropic activities. Watwood invented a device that enable paralytics to maneuver wheelchairs with a minimum of effort.
