The Young Men's Christian Association celebrates its 150th anniversary in New Orleans on June 28th, 2001, and entertainment will include performances by Peter, Paul and Mary, and four youth choruses. The choruses include that of the Boothbay region of Maine, and includes 124 singers from seven different coastal towns.

Nicholas is known for his handmade ash and sweetgrass baskets. He learned of the tedious craft from his Passamaquoddy ancestors who passed the basketmaking skills from generation to generation. He sells the baskets for a bargain given the amount of preparation that the work requires.
