Article Abstract:
National Ice Core Laboratory scientists analyze ice samples from ice-covered regions to learn more about the earth's climate. Ice samples are gathered by drilling long pipes deep into the ice. Ice cores that cling to the pipes are then brought back to the Denver, CO, laboratory for examination.
