Article Abstract:
The discovery of the abundance of codfish in the coast of North America by John Cabot five hundred years ago has enticed English settlers to make cod fishing as a source of livelihood. Cod trading became popular in the middle of 17th century when Boston ships brought cod to Spain and Africa.

A bridge to America
Article Abstract:
The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) was founded in 1845 to help people understand the history and culture of New England. The NEHGS has 17,000 members worldwide, and is currently undertaking an acquisition project called the New England and Canadian microfilm project.
