Author Mark Salzman was asked to play the cello for a group of teenage prisoners in L.A's Juvenile Hall but he had his doubts whether the boys would appreciate his effort. He played the Swan, an invocation to motherhood, three times at the boys' request, which brought tears to the eyes of the audience and ovation to him.
