Lost in the Iraqi desert

A British soldier fighting against Iraq during the Persian Gulf War of 1991 got separated from his patrol and spent the next several days walking through the Iraqi desert. Suffering from hunger, thirst, exhaustion and exposure to the elements, he finally reached Syria and safety on the eight day.

Royal Air Force pilot John Peters and his navigator, John Nichol were prisoners of war during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. They underwent brutal punishment from Iraqi soldiers. However, their faith in each other made them survive the severe ordeal that they went through.
