Mostly empty Alabaster sand stretches for 90 miles along the bright blue Caribbean Sea south of Cancun on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula known, as Riviera Maya remains relatively undeveloped. White sands still separate seaside resorts and the laws limit development and protect the world's second-largest coral reef offshore and beyond the beaches and resorts, visitors find a nearly pristine subtropical paradise and a deep reservoir of ancient culture.
