Nurturing young artists
Article Abstract:
A program started by Art teacher Christa Wise Art a Loan, is about student's artwork being judged and shown in a gallery-type setting and then leased out to businesses for $100 a year, money for which is Used to pay for the following year's showing expenses. Art gallery owners, Joyce and Bill Peters, are the biggest supporters of this program.

Teens are class act
Article Abstract:
An after-school program in Illinois puts high school tutors in touch with elementary students and has been successful at many levels. Each year about 400 elementary students participate in the after-school classes, with about 100 teacher and high school volunteers involved.
