Our unknown POWs
Article Abstract:
Many US prisoners of war of German troops in territory that was later overrun by Soviet forces during World War II remain unaccounted for. Stalin used these prisoners as pawns in his power play with the US after the war. This surprising fact was revealed by Russian Pres. Boris Yeltsin in 1992.

Prisoner of war missing in action (POW MIA) expert Bill Bell established the National Veterans Research Center in Fort Smith, AK, to help the families of victims understand the truth. Bell believes that the US government was not determined to bring POWs and MIAs back to the country.

World War II prisoners of war were victims of monotony, extreme weather, mistreatment, and hunger. Many did not return, and those who did found need for many adjustments.
