POW/MIAs: the men we left behind
Article Abstract:
The US plan to resume ties with Vietnam without resolving the issue of MIAs and POWs has raised much criticism from veterans. The veterans allege that the government is covering-up the existence of MIAs and POWs and is planning to abandon them in exchange for Vietnamese oil.

Rural health care, POW/MIAs fuel the fires

The American Legion held its 32nd Annual Washington Conference on Feb 9 to 12, 1992. The Legionnaires discussed issues such as the Rural Health Care Initiative and the search for POW/MIAs. They also voiced out their concern over ongoing military cutbacks.

Article Abstract:
The 1991 American Legion meeting issued a demand for the declassification of POW/MIA documents. The Legion announced plans to represent veterans in selected court cases. A grim future was predicted for Veterans Administration health care.
