Parry Sound's big payoff

The small town of Parry Sound in Ontario, Canada had a serious shortage of nurses but a group and community effort made it possible for the community college to offer a shortened nursing course to mature citizens. The effort was a success and the town graduated its first batch of local nurses in 1991.

The pain that accompanies the death of a pet adversely affects the emotional set-up of the owner. This condition must be avoided because of its possible long-term repercussions. Guidelines that would enable owners to cope with the loss are enumerated and explained.

Aaron Lansky set up the National Yiddish Book Center in Northampton, MA, in 1980. His attempts to preserve Yiddish books and promote Jewish culture has resulted in renewed interest on the subject.
