'Red music' rocks out

Compilation CDs like Battalion 307 and Spring of '68 featuring local Vietnamese pop idols singing updated renditions of patriotic songs about the war with the US are enchanting the young Vietnamese. The red music, or nhac do, is drawing a new generation of fans as these kinds of songs glorify their love for the country and can be sung anywhere.
