Article Abstract:
The former East German capital of Berlin is undergoing a massive reconstruction in line with plans to make it the new capital of Germany after 2001. Its re-creation is designed to erase the architectural reminders of communism, such as bombed ruins, substandard buildings and rundown infrastructure.
