Article Abstract:

Emulsion paint is available in an abundance of colours, matt or silk finishes, liquid or solid form, and in one-coat or more varieties. Methods of application include brushes, rollers and paint pads. Some 64 brands of white emulsion have been tested, of which Cover Plus liquid matt, Co-op liquid silk, Square Deal solid matt, Crown Advance Matt Emulsion one-coat matt and one-coat silk, and Ark Trust one coat matt and silk ranked as best buys. The 64 brands and test results are listed, together with details of preparation for painting, application, and cleaning up afterwards.

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the slaughter of thousands of farm animals in Britain as a result of the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. The rapid spread of the disease and the influence of intensive farming on the severity of spread are discussed.
