Sancerre was once an inexpensive and plentiful French white wine produced in the upper Loire region. Its price doubled between the mid-1970s and the mid-1980s and its quality declined. However, in 1992 there are signs that the wine is making a comeback.

Sweet alternatives
Article Abstract:
The sweet wines of the French communes of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Loupiac, Cadillac and Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux are discussed. The wines are an excellent alternative to the better-known but more expensive ones of Sauternes and Barsac.
