The smallest bank in the United States, The Bank of Lowes (Lowes, Kentucky), has succumbed to the industry consolidation trend. Small bank advocates argue that community banks offer personalized customer service and are able to invest in the community. However, larger banks are able to offer more services at a lower cost.
