The space shuttle Challenger exploded shortly after liftoff on Jan 28, 1986 and their families have spent the last ten years healing and learning to go on. Many survivors work for the continuation of space exploration and space exploration to see that the dream of the Challenger crew continues.

The corpse of Jernigan, a convicted prisoner who had donated his body to science, was imaged whole and photographed in wafer-thin cross-sections for the Visual Human Project. University of Colorado researchers compiled the anatomical image database for the National Library of Medicine.
