The Mattingly Gene
Article Abstract:
The Mattingly disorder , a genetic disease that has afflicted many of the descendants of Thomas Mattingly, causes a deterioration of muscles brought on by a neuron failure. There has been no known cure for the disease, but there is now hope. Molecular biologists at Johns Hopkins University have narrowed the Mattingly gene to one chromosome.
