The 'battle of Belmore': multiculturalism comes to the rugby league
Article Abstract:
The incident called the "Battle of Belmore" was a riot involving rival rugby fans at Belmore Oval in Sydney, Australia, on June 2, 1997. On that day, the Canterbury Bulldogs were playing the Penrith Panters. Some have suggested that Canterbury fans assaulted police officers because of a refereeing decision which cost their team the match. Others have suggested that some fans brought flags of their ancestral homeland and celebrated with their traditional dances that led to rioting and violence against police officers.

Australians 1901-1951
Article Abstract:
Australians have gone through many changes in the past 50 years, but they remain much the same people. In 1901, Australia had 3.8 mil people, it has over 8 mil people now. They work more in factories than on land, they go to the beach more than the church, and they have stayed largely a white nation with equalitarian democracy. Some people have changed with the advances in technology and social climate, but Australians are determined to keep their unique culture.

Reconciliation and Aboriginal health
Article Abstract:
Aboriginal health care can serve as a unifying force in relations between white and black Australians. In an environment of growing prejudice between indigenous and non-indigenous people, a proactive strategy regarding health care can serve as stepping stone to tackle complex political problems. Australians' successful work in HIV/AIDS projects and health care financing should provide the necessary expertise in addressing other health care issues.
