James B. Connolly won the first event in the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, the first Olympiad in modern times. Connolly, of South Boston, MA, won the triple jump competition the first day of the Olympics, making him the first gold medalist in 1,527 years.

Article Abstract:
A weather phenomenon known as 'weather breeder', a cloudless period followed by a storm within three to four days, is not new to the people of New England. Though normal, this type of weather makes the people believe that suffering often follows a good weather.
