The fleeting, eternal snowflake

Wilson Bentley spent 46 years photographing snowflakes. He was so captivated with the ever-changing patterns and shapes that he resolved to preserve some of them. At the time of his death in 1931, he had taken no less than 6000 pictures of snow crystals.

This place of summer dreams

The sight of a house with a wrap-around porch causes a driver to stop and walk on it. Childhood memories about the driver's grandmother and how much porches used to serve as a social gathering place are recalled.
