The Republicans promised that they would cut taxes and government spending and rehabilitate Social Security when they came into power in Congress in 1994. However, the 1999 federal budget proves that they have reneged on their promise when they appropriated money for items that the American public does not need.

Newly declassified documents reveal the existence of an effort by post-World War II US military intelligence to keep tabs on Soviet agents in the US.
