Events concerning the kidnapping of Brazilian-born Christine Aragao and her two children in Miami, FL, by illegal immigrant Ewin Oscar Martinez are described. Martinez and his accomplices aimed to return to Venezuela with the Aragao's family fortune. The ultimate rescue of the kidnap victims by the FBI is also described.

Miracle at Adobe Creek
Article Abstract:
Educator Tom Furrer and his students were instrumental in the restoration of aquatic life in Adobe Creek in Petaluma, CA. The restoration effort began by removing garbages from the creek and planting trees on the site. Furrer and his students also established hatchery for fingerlings.

Rescue at Mogadishu

Americans, foreign diplomats and Somalian employees and their families were evacuated from the American embassy at Mogadishu in Somalia when the civil war broke out into massive urban combat. They were rescued by helicopter-borne Navy SEALs on Jan 6, 1991.
