The 1990s has been described as the decade of the tabloid newspapers as this form of mass media has encroached on every aspect of American life. Starting with the arrest of Pee-Wee Herman in 1991 to the sensationalized stories of Joey Buttafuoco, John Wayne Bobbitt to the O.J. Simpson affair, the tabloids have shaped American news, culture and behavior.
