Peru's government is embroiled in an investigation of political corruption at the highest levels of government. Videos of the alleged crimes are aired regularly on television stations, even though the stations were under the influence of the government under former Pres Fujimori.

Buddy Cianci, the mayor of Providence, RI, is under investigation for political corruption for allegedly taking bribes. Other members of his administration have been convicted. Cianci was convicted of assault and forced to resign as mayor in 1983, but reelected in 1990.
