Two bikes, one bear, beware!

Plymouth State College students Chris Gadbois and Greg Peruzzi gained a lot of fame when they collided with a bear while on a cycling trip. While bears are struck by cars regularly in New Hampshire, this was believed to be the first recorded bear-bicycle collision in state history.

Tommy Leonard owns the Eliot Lounge in Boston, MA. Some hours before the Boston Marathon actually begins, Leonard hosts the marathon's unofficial opening ceremony with an unfurling of flags. Leonard became the city's unofficial host to the marathon in 1974.
