Article Abstract:
US peacekeeping forces in Mogadishu, Somalia could have benefitted from following the techniques used by Australia during their occupation of the city of Baidoa. The Australian forces used a plan based on a community approach to peacekeeping and related well to the population, but also actively disarmed rebels unlike the Americans. The Australians found great success in the peacekeeping mission.
