Article Abstract:
A profile on the political activity of Hispanics in revising the English Language Development Program of California's education law is presented. Many Hispanics are being left out of the English language program due to the high number of Hispanic teacher hirings, which encouraged the use of Spanish in education.

Politicians stand to benefit if they adopt the statesmanship and principles which governed Abraham Lincoln's actions. Despite portrayals of Lincoln as a stern and grave leader, he used wit and humor, practiced tolerance, exercised pragmatism and showed sympathy for all during his governance.
