When something smells fishy: FDA fish sniffers have the sense to stop bad seafood

James D. Barnett, a former U.S. Food and Drug Administration tea taster, is one of the dozen FDA sensory specialists to help the public from consuming bad seafood by sniffing out bad seafood before it reaches the American consumer market. According to him odor alone does not separate the bad seafood from the good one and often different methods are used to bring out the difference.

Combustible upon re-entry: Program eases transition for veterans after release from jail
Article Abstract:
Veterans Community Re-entry Program at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center helps the veterans released from the jail by easing their transition back into mainstream society. The veterans are referred to various community programs and are encouraged to attend classes that include computer skills, anger management, parenting and job-readiness class among other things.
