About one in four North Americans suffer from fatigue lasting longer than two weeks. Some of the reasons for the weariness are lack of sleep, sleep apnea, iron-deficiency anemia, depression, thyroid imbalance, chronic fatigue syndrome and post-flu lethargy.

Children and immediate family of Alzheimer's disease patients have a 19% chance of developing the disease. Previous risk assessments, which were calculated at a lifespan of 90 to 95 years, were reduced by calculating risks before the age of 70.
