A simulation-based welfare loss calculation for labor taxes with piecewise-linear budgets
Article Abstract:
The results of graduated income tax rates and transfer programs in piecewise-linear budget have been discussed. The tax rules may affect the individual preferences with kink points and budget segments. A simulation-based method to compute estimated welfare affects is presented.

The two-part instrument in a second-best world
Article Abstract:
Many actions that result in pollution are not market transactions so they cannot be taxed. An environmental policy comprised of two parts, which addresses this type of pollution by offering subsidies for using cleaner alternatives, is suggested.
