Disability insurance rejection rates and the labor supply of older workers
Article Abstract:
An analysis of disability insurance denial rates reveals that every 10% increase in the denial rate results in a 0.48% decrease in non participation. The study solves the ideal denial rate for maintaining financial balance between funding and coverage. Disability insurance denial rates have fluctuated between the 1970s and the 1990s and this has resulted in undetermined fluctuations in the labor supply.
