Assembly
Article Abstract:
The California Assembly is set to undergo major changes with 25 members leaving the house due to the primary election. Retirement, running for higher office and loss of mandate are the main causes of the members' exit from the house. Moreover, another 10 members could lose their seats in Nov 1992 while 13 Democrats are set to leave at the end of 1992. The Republicans have the chance of increasing their numbers gaining the majority with 47 members. However, it is more probable for the Democrats to end up with 39 members, the Republicans with 36 and five others determing the authority over the Assembly.
