Cameras contribute to lumber store's bottom line
Article Abstract:
AJO Lumber of New York City, NY, uses a 12-video camera surveillance system from Crow Electronic Engineering of Fort Lee, NJ, to monitor and prevent shiplifting and theft. The system is based on Crow's "i-Witness" remote video system. The "i-Witness" is a Windows 95 based system that enables users to monitor six separate video sources locally and remotely from any location at the same time, using standard telephone lines. AJO general manager Isaac Cohen, wanted the system because it allows him to monitor the operation while he is away visiting a customer or vendor or at home when the store was closed.
