E-mail security and users' 'conversational rights'
Article Abstract:
QVTech founder and CEO Geoff Mulligan believes that the most substantial threat to e-mail security are embedded viruses that can allow access to e- mail by unauthorized personnel. The use of e-mail to spread viruses, a practice that is becoming more and more prevalent, is being countered by such applications as the Java sandbox model. These applications, which act as virtual quarantines, have the potential for widespread security uses in corporate settings.

Riding high
Article Abstract:
Electronic fare cards such as those produced by Cubic Transportation Systems are helping mass transits recoup losses as well as provide commuters convenience and better service. Aside from increased revenue, the Chicago Transit Authority's use of Cubic's cards, for instance, was able to reduce theft, fare evasion, hand collection and transfer fraud. Transit companies can also monitor which stations are busiest and need added security customer assistance.
