Tone is set for responsible CCTV
Article Abstract:
The United States Attorney General has launched surprise inspections of manufacturers and distributors of CCTV equipment that possess covert audio capabilities. The inspections were spurred by the findings of the Justice Dept of alleged violations of wiretapping laws by the makers and distributors of CCTV equipment. The Attorney General's office said that it will target products that are designed to intentionally mislead as to their real purpose.

New US passports Immigrate into the digital age
Article Abstract:
The US State Daparment has begun issuing a new US passport that features a digitized photograph and data page. A department spokesperson says the digitized photo should discourage photo substitution, which is used in fake passports. Criminal syndicates are known to use altered passports to smuggle contraband into the country. The altered passports are usually those that have been left or stolen by their original bearers.
