Moral hazard and sickness insurance
Article Abstract:
The adverse effects of Sweden's national sickness insurance on the absence from work are discussed. Such an insurance prompts increase in frequency of absence. The new insurance policy is compared with the old policy wherein the employees would lose earnings due to temporary illness.

Remedies for an ailing system
Article Abstract:
Five health care reform bills are currently in the California legislature. While medical care in California has reached a crisis level, it is unlikely that any of the bills will pass during the current budget deficit and economic crisis.
