Not all school districts crowing about school bond deal
Article Abstract:
Proposition 1A holds that $6.7 billion should be earmarked for the construction of new schools for California's students from kindergarten through 12th grade. However, some districts fear that the new school-funding formula could leave districts short of local funds even as it could also provide municipalities with enough freedom to encourage residential developments at the expense of school construction. The new cap on school fees brought about by Proposition 1A may also fail to generate enough local funding to satisfy state requisites.

Voices of the Valley
Article Abstract:
The population of Central Valley, CA, is expected to grow rapidly as housing along the coastline is becoming increasingly unaffordable to ordinary people. The Valley's population could increase by up to 10 million people by 2040, according to some forecasts, which will require the development of whole new towns and irreversibly change the character of the Valley. Some local leaders believe land should not be developed to the detriment of agriculture, while others believe value-added industries should be developed.
