Parking lot devices provide peace of mind for customers
Article Abstract:
Westfield Shoppingtown Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, one of the biggest malls in the US, has installed a security equipment from Code Blue of Holland, MI, to provide parking lot customers with emergency communication and customer service. A Code Blue unit features a button that is pressed by a distressed customer to flash a blue strobe light. The light flash allows the security department to locate the customer. Each unit also has an interactive voice communication system that allows the customer to communicate with security.

Tech detector refinements coming up
Article Abstract:
The evolution of perimeter intrusion detection systems points in the direction of smaller size, faster processing and lower costs. Enhancements in active infra-red technology and laser technology will allow intrusion detection systems to cover a much wider area, although false alarms and location identification are still a problem with those systems. Other areas where improvements are likely to be seen are surveillance equipment, accessories and data transmission systems.
