Options growing for asset tracking/access control
Article Abstract:
Several electronics manufacturers have developed asset management/asset control systems for tracking the movement of expensive equipment associated with an indiviidual such as laptops. The system includes embedded tags as well as external tags for assts that cannot be embedded. Most systems also use RFID as their basis for asset tracking. Integration moving toward industry protocols, Internet
Article Abstract:
Integration of access control equipment should start with a definition of end-user requirements. For instance, property managers would want building management systems integration, while a corporation would seek employee database integration. Some experts, however, say that despite the differences in requirements, more end-users are demanding greater control of access control systems, rather than mere interfacing.
