Public good and the value of product quality regulations: the case of food safety
Article Abstract:
The preference for product quality regulations which derive from preferences for both private and public goods, was examined, and the model was used to explain public attitudes towards a referendum measure to eliminate pesticide residue on food. The results from the survey of the consumers, show that, preference for public goods influence support for the product quality regulation.
