Public radio in the United States: does it correct market failure or cannibalize commercial stations?
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze market and government provisions on radio broadcasting, with emphasis on possible areas of underprovision by the market. Problems of inefficient underprovision and failure to support programming with the total value in excess of costs were examined. Results indicated that justification for the public funding of programming that supercedes commercial programming correlates with the level of similarity between public and commercial programming.

An appending efficient algorithm for allocating public projects with positive complementarities
Article Abstract:
A single public project needs to be studied together with complementary projects in order to avoid suboptimal resource allocation. Assessing project packages is a complex task requiring appending algorithms, which are useful because of the degree to which they can be parallelized and applied to projects positive and positive uniform complementaries. Practical limitations, however, restrict use of these.
