Neighborhood racial change, segregationist sentiments, and affirmative marketing policies
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the process of neighborhood racial change during the 1970s is presented by developing an econometric model of 1970-1980 alterations in neighborhood racial makeup using census data reported for Cuyahoga County, Ohio. An important goal of the research was to investigate white racial attitudes. The model investigation hypothesized that affirmative marketing strategies could significantly stabilize and increase integration. Research results indicate support for the hypothesis because it was found that when affirmative marketing methods were used in two initially white housing tracts, greater levels of integration in the areas resulted. In addition, less racial change in significantly integrated areas was reported.

Contract equilibria in a regulated rental housing market
Article Abstract:
In a study of contract equilibria concepts applied to a regulated rental housing market, where contract terms and rent levels are prescribed (often, under protective legislation), a regional rental housing equilibrium model is developed. The model's basic concepts are reviewed and equilibrium notions and theorems are presented. Utilizing assumptions of monotonicity and continuity of separate utility functions, the existence of specified equilibria is proven. Additional research is recommended for the relaxation of the model's assumptions.
