The transportation industry and some multi-national corporations in the US have intensified their security efforts after the US renewed its military action against Iran. The transportation industry has adopted an anti-terrorist program that integrates various technologies. The latest security systems in application make use of an integrated approach that combines surveillance, access and communications technologies. Technological advancement of computerized security systems has been fueled almost entirely by anti-terrorist programs.

The power of open systems
Article Abstract:
The adoption of open systems in computerized security systems has the potential to boost the security services industry. An open architecture will permit the quick and easy upgrade of existing security systems whenever better technology becomes available. It can also reduce an organization's operating expenses by removing redundant systems and by creating smarter systems that link lighting and HVAC systems to security systems.
