The effect of Medicaid expansions for low-income children on Medicaid participation and private insurance coverage: evidence from the SIPP
Article Abstract:
Using the Survey of Income and Program Participation, it is observed that an increase in the eligibility of low-income children for Medicaid is directly proportionate to Medicaid take-up. It is also observed that private insurance coverage is not crowded out by such changes in Medicaid eligibility.
