Universities find key to improved security on campus
Article Abstract:
Atlanta, GA-based Keytrack Inc offers a combination of computer and microchip technology to help universities keep track of keys to many campus facilities. Administrators at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, VA, and at Columbia Teachers College in New York, NY, use the KeyTrack system to control and manage thousands of keys to housing, buildings, vehicles, offices and other campus facilities. Masterkeys are stored in the KeyTrack system, which requires a person to enter his name and password to obtain a key. Elimination of many paperworks and streamlining of operations related to managing keys are just some of the benefits realized by the universities with the use of the KeyTrack system.

Maintaining the integrity of Internet monitoring technology
Article Abstract:
The entry of Internet technology into security systems is a crucial development that requires careful planning. Before such systems can become practical, the issue of security and reliability must be adequately addressed. Such is the reason behind the introduction of such legislations as the Electronic Rights for the 21st Century Act and Pres Clinton's Executive Order 13010, also known as 'Critical Infrastructure Protection.'
