Evaluations of care by ambulatory surgery patients

Article Abstract:

The quality of service provided to ambulatory surgery patients is examined due to the increasing prevalence of outpatient delivery settings. Monitoring is important to evaluate quality and the other components of clinical care. A survey on patient satisfaction was conducted on 36,078 patients who were treated in 275 ambulatory surgery clinics across the US. Patients gave the highest ratings to the friendliness of the nurse and physician, courtesy of the electrocardiogram technician and nurses' concern for comfort. The lowest scores were for registration, waiting time, parking convenience and comfort of the waiting room.

Information content of dentists' Yellow Pages advertising

Article Abstract:

The information that consumers have said is important to them when selecting dental services is not usually presented in Yellow Page dental display ads, according to content analysis research on 1,007 ads. Prior research studies were used to ascertain what information consumers deemed important and to show the influence of the Yellow Pages in deciding on dental services. More than one quarter of consumers use the Yellow Pages to choose dentists. However, the study showed that the information consumers consider important is not usually present in the Yellow Pages ads.

Positioning health care services: yellow pages advertising and dental practice performance

Article Abstract:

A survey of Oregon dentists, performed in conjunction with a content analysis of survey respondents' yellow pages advertisements, revealed that positioning is a determinant of practice performance. Dentists expressing complex or functional positions in their yellow pages ads have higher gross incomes than dentists with simple name-address-and-phone-number listings.
