Quality of health care and financial performance: is there a link?
Article Abstract:
The relationship between quality of health care and financial performance was examined using data for 82 small and medium-sized hospitals owned and operated by HealthTrust Inc. Multiple regression and factor analyses of the data indicate a statistically significant correlation between high quality and high profitability. It is suggested that higher quality services yields greater market share or operate more efficiently, or both.
